  • I once heard an odd story claiming that when Flannery O’Connor was seven years old, a news crew went to her family’s home in Georgia to film her and the chicken she had taught to walk backwards. It turns out the story was true and here’s the newsreel to prove it.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out! The volume of Barrett/Browning letters is so lengthy I’m just past halfway now, and I now understand (not having known a great deal about either of them before) why their story is so romantic. The love-letters are heart-warmingly beautiful (though still mixed with some literary talk, too!).

    1. I’m not too terribly familiar with the Brownings either. I’ve been meaning to read more of their poetry, but their letters sound lovely too.

    1. Yes! It was published in the UK last week and it’s going to be published in the US this October. Hmm, I must have missed that review. I’ll have to go back and look for that, as this poem does sound kind of interesting.

Is this just fantasy?

I love the movies, which is why I like to blame them for everything.
