Poem of the Week: “Much Madness Is Divinest Sense”

Story of my life.

“Much Madness Is Divinest Sense”

by Emily Dickinson

Much madness is divinest sense
To a discerning eye;
Much sense the starkest madness.
‘Tis the majority
In this, as all, prevails.
Assent, and you are sane;
Demur, — you’re straightway dangerous,
And handled with a chain.

    1. You’re welcome. 🙂 Yes, I was glad to find this poem because it’s a perfect representation of what I’ve felt many times: the feeling that the whole world wants to avoid you just because you don’t follow them lockstep.
